Canon Vixia HF S21 HD Camcorder has a highly intelligent system that can recognize faces turned in any way. Be it downwards or sideways, you can guarantee a good, specific and clear shot. If you have a specific face you want to shoot, it can be the subject to continuous tracking. Of course if you want to zero in on scenes without having to fight with the glare from the sunlight or outside distractions, you can use the HF S21’s 0.27″ color viewfinder to record and review your video and still images. This way, you can capture memories all around!

  • Zoom switch is ‘pretty good’ sure miss those BIG rocker switches they used to have
  • this camera has the HD lens which is the same lens as on their higher end camcorders.
  • You also get two SDHC slots that you can put two memory cards in there
  • 8 Megapixel camera feature. Also, you get 6Megapixel pictures that you can capture straight from video
  • comes with a 3.5″ LCD touchscreen
  • OEM Battery (BP 808) lasted me about 55 minutes in real world – easy enough to fix
  • Bulky – it is about 2 3/4″ square and does not comfortably fit my hand or anyone else who picked it up
  • I would be widely recommending it except for the incredibly poor preamplifier that adds an inordinate amount of hiss to the recording
  • Touchscreen responsiveness could be improved significantly

This COULD have been a superb video camera, and I would be widely recommending it except for the incredibly poor preamplifier that adds an inordinate amount of hiss to the recording.
